Reports: Juventus target ready to give up opportunity to play with Cristiano Ronaldo, wants Real Madrid move

Mauro Icardi’s association with Inter is set to come to an end and given the Argentine striker’s incredible goal-scoring ability, quite a few European clubs are showing interest in him.

There have been widespread reports that Icardi might be on his way to Juventus but rumours of another big European club joining the race are doing the rounds. Apparently, it is the striker who wants to move away from Italy.

According to reports in Spanish publication AS, Real Madrid are supposedly the favoured destination for Icardi, who wants to play for a side who could challenge for the UEFA Champions League.

However, as the report adds, Madrid are not really looking to add the Argentine forward to their ranks with stars like Eden Hazard and Paul Pogba their primary targets. Thus, after all Icardi could end up joining the Italian champions as contract talks with Inter come to a standstill.

FOX Sports Probability Rating: 2/5 – Real Madrid might be showing interest in the striker but that doesn’t mean their interest is concrete. Moreover, Karim Benzema’s swashbuckling form this season might force Madrid to strengthen positions around the Frenchman rather than replace him with another striker.
