Reports: Barcelona looking to pull off a cut-price deal for Chelsea attacker in the summer

Barcelona have ramped up their interest in Chelsea winger Willian once again as they return for him in the summer transfer window, after unsuccessfully trying to sign him last year.

Telegraph reports that Barcelona are attempting to sign Chelsea’s Brazilian winger Willian in a cut price deal in the summer after their £55 million bid last year was rejected.

It is reported that they also approached Chelsea in January with a cash plus player deal in for the winger that would have seen Malcom go to the Premier League. However, that deal too was rejected by the English club.

The report states that now, however, the situation may have changed as Willian only has one more year left in his contract. And coupled with Chelsea’s unwillingness to offer more than a year extension to players above 30, Barcelona is said to have a good chance to sign the player on the cheap this time around.

However, the two transfer window ban that the English club has been slapped with is said to complicate matters, especially on the back of Eden Hazard’s potential departure to Real Madrid.

FOX Sports Asia probability rating: 2/5; With Hazard probably leaving and Hudson-Odoi’s future uncertain, Chelsea won’t be keen on losing another winger.
