Reports: Manchester City to snub Isco for Real Madrid teammate

With the summer transfer window coming soon, all European clubs are trying their absolute best to secure their dream signings at the earliest. Premier League giants Manchester City are no exceptions either, as they have gone ahead to try and sign a few important names themselves.

One of the key names that have been linked to City is Real Madrid’s Isco who was apparently unsettled during Julen Lopetegui’s and Santiago Solari’s time as Real Madrid managers.

But as of latest, Don Balon reports that there are a slight change of plans in the Manchester City camp, with Pep Guardiola currently more interested in Isco’s Madrid teammate Toni Kroos.

The reappointment of Zidane at the helm in Real Madrid, has apparently assured Isco of a prolonged future with Los Blancos, while the same cannot be spoken of Kroos. The 2014 World Champion has failed to impress fans and the management alike this season, and is now touted for a move to the Premier League giants – where Guardiola sees him as a worthy replacement to the aging Fernandinho and the underperforming Ilkay Gundogan, as per Don Balon.

FOX Sports Asia probability ratings: 3/5; With several midfield names like Eden Hazard, Paul Pogba, Christian Eriksen and so on linked to Real Madrid, it seems possible that Kroos will head out to England. Meanwhile, City are on a search for prolific midfielders too, and the German will suit Pep Guardiola’s plans fairly well.
