As per the latest reports, Spanish giants Real Madrid are all set to offload unsettled winger Gareth Bale, in the upcoming summer transfer window.
It has also been understood that Los Blancos have tabled an asking price of £113million for the Welshman.
It has been six years since Gareth Bale broke Cristiano Ronaldo’s then-transfer record, to join the Merengues from Tottenham Hotspur. Bale then went on to be a part of Real Madrid’s Champions League winning teams four times – in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018, apart from winning the La Liga, Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup once each, the UEFA Super Cup thrice and the FIFA Club World Cup four times.
He is also one of the few Real Madrid players to score more than a hundred goals for the club, with his tally currently unbeaten at 102.
But in the past couple of years and the ongoing season in particular, he has not been able to produce a steady impact. His constant run-ins with injuries further complicates the problem.
Spanish news agency AS reports that Real Madrid believes that £113million is a fair price for the superstar. The reports further add that Madrid would also consider the possibility of a swap deal with English giants Manchester United, where they will be exchanging him for Frenchman Paul Pogba.
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is particularly interested in improving the team’s midfield, and as a result he may also be interested in a swap deal with Tottenham Hotspur over midfielder Christian Eriksen, provided the Pogba deal with United fails to take off.
FOX Sports Asia probability ratings: 3/5; Clearly Gareth Bale is unsettled, and might be interested in a move away from Real Madrid. Manchester United are reportedly interested in securing his services as well. It remains to be seen whether Paul Pogba will be a part of this transfer, as the Red Devils are not interested in selling him despite his reported interest in joining the Spanish outfit.
