It is already known that Real Madrid, inspired by the reappointment of Zinedine Zidane at the helm, are looking forward to overhaul their squad to a major extent, in a effort to get over their woes from the ongoing season.
They have already been linked with a number of players in various positions, but as per the latest reports from Metro, Zidane is keenly interested to rope in Manchester United’s Eric Bailly as their top-priority defensive signing.
The reports in Metro also add that the United centre-back is set to be sold off after the season, so as to fund the transfer of incoming players at Old Trafford. Bailly had a torrid time at the club throughout his tenure, after having arriving as former manager Jose Mourinho’s first signing.
Injuries and poor performances continued to hinder his case, and current Red Devils’ manager Solskjaer has finally taken the decision to offload the player, while also looking for a new center back.
Zidane’s newly reported interest in the player will serve as a boost in the possible transfer sale. The former World Champion may even use Raphael Varane as part of the deal as the Frenchman has been looking for a way out of the Los Blancos, as per Metro.
FOX Sports Asia probability ratings; 1/5; Eric Bailly really looks like a downgrade to Raphael Varane, if nothing else. While the player may be interested in moving to such a high-profile club, it remains to be seen whether the others at Real Madrid’s management are okay with the idea, which in turn seems highly unlikely.
