Top Barcelona target reacts angrily to question about his potential move to Spain

Ajax defender and one of Barcelona’s top targets Matthijs de Ligt has had his say on the transfer rumours linking him with the Spanish giants.

The 19-year-old has been the subject of interest of multiple European clubs, including Juventus and Barcelona. However, he hasn’t let that affect his performances on the pitch and has led Ajax to the quarterfinal of the UEFA Champions League.

When quizzed about the rumours linking him with Barcelona, De Ligt came down hard on Mundo Deportivo, who were the first report a potential deal between the two parties. The Dutch international was quick to add that he is not sure where his future lies.

“According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca and me are close to reaching a deal? They have been writing a lot about me lately and I still play at Ajax, so they are not well informed. I don’t know yet where my future is,” the youngster said.

While his comments don’t paint a clear picture about whether he will or not join Barcelona, it is clear that the youngster wants to focus on his game rather than the transfer talks going around.
