Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has jotted up a list of potential summer transfer targets as he prepares for his first full season as the boss at Old Trafford.
This is according to the Telegraph who are reporting that the Manchester United manager is looking to splash the cash with players like Alexis Sanchez, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera heading for the exit doors.
According to the English media outlet, Solskjaer is interested in six world-class talents and wants five new signings with right-back, centre-back and forward positions the top priority. And he would also want to shore up his midfield in the event of Herrera or/and Mata leaving the club.
Here are the names that are thrown up in the article as potential Manchester United players next season:
1) Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund)
The English youngster has been in scintillating form in the German Bundesliga for Borrusia Dortmund and Solskjaer is an admirer of the 19-year-old. However, pursuing the winger could cost United a huge £100 million. Will the Red Devils baulk at the sum? Or will they open their transfer war chest?
2) Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace)
Another youngster in the list who could solve the problems at the right-back position for United. The 21-year-old England youth international has been a regular for Crystal Palace in the Premier League this season and could cost United around £40 million.
3) Raphael Varane (Real Madrid)
One of them more accomplished names on the list is that of Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane’s. United have tried to bring him to England before and it looks like the French centre-back might finally decide to pursue his career away from the Spanish capital.
4) Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli SC)
The Senegal international has been rumoured with a move to the Premier League for a few years now, but it has been Chelsea who have been linked with him on most of the occasions. However, United could splurge the cash to take the centre-back from Naples to Manchester.
5) Declan Rice (West Ham United)
Another of the Three Lions youth star who could play as a centre-back and also in the defensive midfield role. He has been a permanent fixture in the West Ham squad over the last couple of seasons and already has two caps at the senior international level.
6) Saul Niguez (Atletico Madrid)
United could turn to Atletico to fill the void left by potential departures of Mata and Herrera. And it is Spain international Saul Niguez who they have their eyes on. The 24-year-old came through the ranks at Atletico and only a solid offer would let Diego Simeone let go off one of his most important players.
