Reports: Real Madrid, Juventus, and Manchester United involved in midfield swap

As the end of the current football season approaches, teams have already started planning for the next one. Coming up in three months time is yet another transfer window, with the European heavyweights set to be heavily involved. And reports suggest Real Madrid, Juventus, and Manchester United are involved in a deal that could be the biggest of the summer.

Daily Star reports that Real Madrid are considering moving for Miralem Pjanic this summer. The Bosnia and Herzegovina star currently plies his trade for Juventus in Serie A, having signed with the Turin club three years ago.

According to the news report, returning Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane is said to be fond of the Bosnian midfield maestro, who could fetch up to 70 Million pounds in transfer fees.

Furthermore, Real’s potential move for Pjanic could mean the end of Toni Kroos’s Spanish stay. The German World Cup winner signed for Los Blancos in 2014 but could move on in the summer.

One club which could be keen to bring Kroos in is Manchester United. The Red Devils have been linked with Madrid man in the past and could finally end up snatching him for a fee of 50 Million pounds. However, they face stiff competition from Paris Saint-Germain, who are readying a 68 Million pounds bid for the former-Bayern star.

FOX Sports Asia Probability Rating: 2/5; While the deal surely looks lucrative on paper, it is one that makes little sense. Real Madrid are well-equipped in the middle of the park at the moment, despite a few stars creeping into their thirties. As a result, Los Blancos are almost certain to assign a major chunk of their budget to replenish their attack pool.

On the other hand, Manchester United could shy away from a big-money move for Kroos, a player who will be turning thirty next year.
