Barcelona is reportedly set to attempt to sign Ajax Amsterdam’s Frenkie de Jong in the summer.
De Jong can play as a midfielder or centre-back, with reports suggesting that Barcelona see him as a potential replacement for Sergio Busquets.
The 20-year-old has made 22 Eredivisie appearances this season for Ajax, who sit second on the table, seven points behind PSV.
If the Catalans are unable to secure his services in the upcoming transfer window, they could possibly look to strike a pre-contract agreement, which would see him join the Blaugrana after one more season at Ajax.
Ernesto Valverde’s side has also been linked with another Ajax youngster in Matthijs de Ligt, but they have reportedly been put off by an asking price of 60 million Euros.
