The Japanese ace was speaking following the Rossoneri's 1-1 draw with Empoli this weekend, a result which saw the former champions slump to 11th on the Serie table.
AC Milan have only won once since the start of 2015, and taken a total of 30 points from 23 games this season.
Honda, who has only recently returned from playing for Japan at the AFC Asian Cup, believes fans can help the beleaguered team turn things around.
Football Italia quoted the Japanese ace saying the team need the support of their fans to stay positive.
He said: "We need to improve our performances, but we have to do it all together.
"The fans too can help us to grow. The fans can fire you up before a game, but at the same time, there's a lot of pressure from them because they want to see Milan higher up the table.
"We need to get our heads down and work hard to get out of this current negative situation.
"We need to get rid of the negativity in the dressing room. Only if everyone helps, the players along with the fans, can we bring Milan back to a calmer place."
