AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso was pleased to see the Rossoneri claim their first win under his regime, but still saw room for improvement.
Gattuso drew his first game in charge before a defeat in the Europa League but saw his charges claim a 2-1 victory over Bologna in the Serie A on Sunday thanks to a brace from Giacomo Bonaventura negating Simone Verdi's strike for the visitors.
The former Milan midfielder revealed that it was a tense experience for him looking on from the sidelines, but he was satisfied with the improved performance and wants to see the growth continue.
"I'm always tense, even when I play football with my son, but certainly on this bench, it's even more exciting. Milan is my second skin." Gattuso told Mediaset Premium.
"We still have to improve, especially on the defensive aspect, because Bologna have put us in trouble on more than one occasion.
"But I have to thank the guys for the victory, for the mentality and the sacrifice they made on the field. I keep the performance and the result, but we must bear in mind the road is still long."
