Southampton have revealed that they won’t be retaining Jeremy Pied or Florin Gardos for the 2018/19 Premier League season.
Mark Hughes’ side published their released list for the upcoming campaign after securing their status by just three points, ending in 17th place above the three relegated sides.
Pied, who joined the Saints from Nice in 2016 after a loan spell with Guingamp, having begun his career with Lyon, has been let go alongside a number of young players.
The 29-year-old defender only played eight times, while Gardos, also 29, was signed in 2014 from Steaua Bucurest, and played a total of 18 games. He left on loan for Clubul Sportiv Universitatea Craiova in February.

Following the pair out of the club are Ollie Cook, Armani Little, Olufela Olomola, Will Wood, Ben Cull, Oliver Gardner, Javen Siu and Richard Bakary.
A brief statement from the south coast team read: “Southampton Football Club would like to thank each and every one of the players for all their hard work and commitment during their time with the club, and we wish them all the very best for the future.”
