Mauricio Pochettino was delighted with Tottenham’s 2-0 defeat of Huddersfield on Saturday and Son Heung-min’s second brace this week.
The Korean striker scored either side of the half with two very well taken goals.
According to Pochettino, his side “showed great patience and quality” to break down an organised Terriers team.
After the game, he told the club’s official website: “You need to accept that of course they are going to play in the way that they want and it’s important to try to find a way to break down the opponents.
“I think the team showed great patience and quality. I feel so happy, very pleased. The performance was good and I’m happy because the three points help us to be in a very good position in the table.”
The result kept Spurs in the hunt for a top-four finish as they ended the day in fourth place with 58 points.
The Argentine boss added: “It’s so important because if we want to have the possibility until the end of the season to fight for the top four, I think this result is so important today.”
And on Son, who also scored twice in the 6-1 FA Cup win over Rochdale on Wednesday night, he said: “I’m very happy for him. He scored twice, twice on Wednesday too, his contribution was perfect and he helped the team to achieve the things that we want. We are very pleased for his performance.
“The team was very patient, I think we showed great quality and we are so happy because in the end now we are going to think only about preparing for the game against Juventus (in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday).”
Tottenham host Juventus on Wednesday in the second leg of their last 16 clash, having drawn the first leg 2-2.
