Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain admits the clash with former club Arsenal on Friday will be an emotional occasion for him.
The 24-year-old left the Gunners on transfer deadline day after spending six years in north London. He has since made 18 Premier League appearances for the Reds, scoring a goal and providing two assists.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is looking forward to paying the Emirates Stadium a visit, but will not let nostalgia blunt his desire to claim three points for the Merseysiders.
“It will be a special occasion for me, full of emotion I’m sure,” the England international was quoted as saying by the Mirror.
“We’re in good form and we’ll be going there full of confidence and looking for three points. I hope we can put together a good performance, fight all the way through the game and come out with the right result.”
