De Bruyne wants to face full-strength United

Manchester City playmaker Kevin de Bruyne insists he wants to face a full-strength Manchester United after Paul Pogba commented that he's hoping for injuries.

The Manchester derby will be a top-of-the-table clash at Old Trafford on Sunday as United aim to close the gap on Pep Guardiola's unbeaten City side.

In the build-up to the fixture, Pogba revealed that he's hoping City suffer a few setbacks in terms of injuries and suspensions. Ironically, the Frenchman was shown a red card in the win over Arsenal last weekend and will now miss out on the derby.

Meanwhile, De Bruyne holds a contrasting view. The Belgian is eager to face a full-strength Red Devils outfit instead.

“I don’t believe in that s**t, I’m a very straightforward guy,” said De Bruyne, according to the Mirror.

“If someone believes it is karma then OK – everyone has their right to their opinion.

“I don’t want anyone to get injured. It’s a competition, you want to play against the best teams and the best players.”

He added: “I don’t care. He can say whatever he wants. We just have to be focused on whatever we’re doing.”
