Aguero available after Argentina scare

Sergio Aguero will be available for Manchester City’s Premier League clash against Leicester City this weekend, despite being hospitalised during the international break.

Aguero was playing for Argentina in Tuesday’s international friendly against Nigeria when he was taken ill at half-time.

The Argentine FA tweeted that the striker had suffered a “blackout” and was taken to hospital for routine tests, although Manchester City later contradicted that information by insisting that he didn’t lose consciousness.

However, Aguero has been re-examined by City’s medical staff after returning to Manchester and there is no barrier towards the 29-year-old facing Leicester.

“All the tests they run on me – just for caution – turn out well, so I’m set to go for Saturday’s match. C’mon, City!!” he tweeted.

Aguero has been a key figure for Pep Guardiola’s side this season after netting 10 goals in all competitions. He will look to continue that purple patch in City’s bid to secure an 11th win in 12 Premier League games.
