John Stones has been known to make the odd error on the pitch, but now he’s making them off the pitch as well.
The £50 million Manchester City’s man latest howler though didn’t cost his team a goal, but instead left the young centre-back a little red-faced.
As has become the norm in recent years, players post a celebratory message to fans on social media following a match.
And City certainly did have something to celebrate at the weekend after dispatching Crystal Palace 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium to go top of the league.
Only problem was that Stones congratulated the wrong team!
You may (or may not) be shocked to discover that Stones does not in fact manage his own Instagram account, and the error occurred because the same company also manages the account of Blues’ defender Gary Cahill.
Let’s hope they don’t make the same mistake again next week when the two teams meet at Stamford Bridge.
