Ajax Amsterdam youngster Kees de Boer has left the club to sign a three-year contract with English Premier League side Swansea City.
According to Noordhollands Dagblad, the 17-year-old was informed by the club that he was no longer part of their plans and the Swans have subsequently snapped up his services.
The defensive midfielder arrived at the Amsterdam ArenA to join the club's academy from Volendam in 2012 and rose quickly through the ranks until the U17 side – which he featured prominently for this past season.
FC Twente and Utrecht reportedly offered the Dutchman contracts' to remain in the Netherlands, but de Boer has opted for a new challenge and will join the Swans development side during the off season.
De Boer will join a strong contingent of Dutch youngsters in England with Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Tanith Chong making moves to Manchester United in recent years.
