Chelsea midfielder Oscar is reportedly set to become the latest high-profile player to move to the Chinese Super League.
According to various reports, Shanghai SIPG have agreed to pay €60 million or £60 million for the Brazilian star. The amount would surpass the current transfer record of €56 million that Shanghai paid to acquire the services of another Brazil forward Hulk in June.
Since falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge, Oscar has allegedly told his team-mates that he will be moving to China, according to The Telegraph. It is also understood that the 25-year-old, who has wanted to play under current Shanghai manager Andre Villas-Boas, is set to earn at least €350,000 a week.
Should the deal go through, it will also be Chelsea’s new club record for a sale, beating the £50 million the Blues received from Paris Saint-Germain when they sold defender David Luiz in 2014.
This season, Oscar has made 11 appearances for Chelsea, but has failed to have much of an impact as he has yet to score and notched only one assist.
Chelsea paid £25 million for the former Internacional player in 2012 and stand to make around £35 million profit on the sale.
