The Slovakia international was a target for the Nerazzurri after recently turning down an "unacceptable" contract offer from the Reds to extend his stay beyond 2016, when his current deal expires.
However, reports have emerged that Skrtel has committed his future to the Merseysiders for the next three seasons and his advisor, Karol Csonto, confirmed that the 30-year-old snubbed Inter in order to stay put.
Csonto told the Liverpool Echo: "I confess that there were not mere rumours, the interest from Inter was real.
"The deal did not go ahead, but there was contact made. The player had been thinking about his future and eventually opted to remain at Liverpool."
Skrtel made 48 appearances in all competitions for Brendan Rodgers' side in 2014/15 as they finished outside the UEFA Champions League places in sixth, which instead secured Europa League football for next term.
