Manchester United succumbed to a humiliating 4-0 loss at the hands of Everton to seriously hamper their chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had a difficult last couple of months at the helm of affairs with United. And their form reached an altogether different low with this defeat – their fifth away loss in a row.
However, despite the questionable performance from the United players, their fans were in full voice after the defeat. The manager then walked to the away fans at the Goodison Park and apologised for the shift that his players had put in.
The fans, instead of turning on the manager, kept singing his name to no ends. Some reports suggested the United fans sang Ole’s song for over 15 minutes after the full-time whistle. This shows how the club’s fanbase has remained united over the time, but the players haven’t been able to repay their faith.
