Shocking stat shows Arsenal’s embarrassing away record over the last three years

Arsenal scraped past Watford by a goal to nil, to return to the fourth spot on the Premier League table. The Gunners even managed to keep a clean sheet against their London rivals, to seal their first away win in four matches. However, a terrible stat surfaced shortly after the game, highlighting their horrid away form over the last three years!

A return to the top four was on the cards for Unai Emery and his men, when they faced Watford at the Vicarage Road. The Gunners did dispatch the Hornets, albeit with some difficulty, courtesy of a Ben Foster howler and a Troy Deeney sending off.

Despite Watford’s best efforts, Arsenal held on to their solitary goal, and more importantly, a clean sheet. The North Londoners had conceded on every single occasion on the road this season, before eventually achieving their first clean sheet of the season on matchday 34.

However, the statistics go further downhill for Arsenal from here on. Not only was the blank against Watford their first away clean sheet of the season, but it was also the first in over a year!

Moreover, the Gunners’ terrible away record shows that their last three clean sheets came in three different calendar years. They had managed to keep Huddersfield at bay on the final day of the previous season. Before that, they had kept fellow Londoners West Ham United quiet in a dull nil-nil draw.

However, Arsenal do have a golden opportunity to break this unfortunate streak, as they play Wolves, Leicester, and Burnley away during the upcoming weeks.
