In a bizarre incident during a Premier League encounter between Burnley and Cardiff City, Ashley Barnes was booked for ‘kissing’ an opponent player.
The incident took place in the injury time of the first half of the encounter at Turf Moor. Burnley were leading the match 1-0 courtesy Chris Wood’s strike in the 31st minute. It was after a scuffle with Cardiff City’s Joe Barnett that the Burnley striker decided to kiss him on the nose.
Barnes was cautioned by the referee immediately after. Burnley won the encounter 2-0 as Wood completed his brace late in the match.
Here’s a video of the incident.

Ashley Barnes has received a yellow card after coming face-to-face with Joe Bennett. Barnes kissed Bennet on the nose (honestly), not once but twice. Lucky perhaps not to get 2 yellows. 💋💋

#Burnley’s Ashley Barnes just got a yellow for, among other things, kissing a defender on the nose and forehead after a scuffle.
I love the Premier League.
