Premier League giants Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all interested in appointing a new sporting Director to oversee operations at the respective clubs, and as of latest have shortlisted a common candidate for the role.
The person being referred to here is RB Leipsig’s top talent-spotter Paul Mitchell, who himself is on the verge of signing a new deal with the German mavericks.
It is Sky Sports that reports that each of the above-mentioned English clubs are looking to bring in the Englishman, who is well known for identifying takents like Graziano Pelle, Dusan Tadic and Sadio Mane at Southampton, and Toby Alderwiereld, Dele Alli and Kieran Trippier at Tottenham Hotspur.
Mitchell has also shone well in his current role at RB Leipzig, having recruited the likes of Nordi Mukiele from Montpellier, Matheus Cunha from FC Sion, Marcelo Saracchi from River Plate, Tyler Adams from the New York Red Bulls, Amadou Haidara from Red Bull Salzburg and so on, all for a total sum of just around £35million.
Considering how these players have already been identified as exciting future prospects, Leipsig will be able make a huge profit from them in the future.
As per Sky Sports, the latest offer for him from Leipsig will provide him with additional responsibilities as the club’s “head of global football”, until the year 2025. In addition, TSG Hoffenheim’s current manager Julian Nagelsmann who is all set to take over Leipsig’s current manager Ralf Ragnick’s post from this summer, has already made it clear to the club that Mitchell is to stay.
Meanwhile, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are trying hard to find themselves a sporting Director, so as to prevent themselves from repeating the mistakes from previous transfer windows. The presence of a prolific talent spotter is believed to benefit the clubs well, as they look to reclaim their positions at the topmost parts of the league charts next season.
