Manchester City defeated Cardiff City 2-0 in the English Premier League encounter to move to the top of the table with Kevin de Bruyne getting back on the scoresheet for them!
The Belgian midfielder, however, in a hilarious post-match conversation revealed that he didn’t mean the goal as he was trying to cross the ball. And that directly benefitted Cardiff City and Philippines shot-stopper, Neil Etheridge who was heard saying in the video, “You saved me a fine!”
After the encounter, Cardiff manager Neil Warnock revealed what had exactly happened: “It’s funny because coming off I had a chat with him [Etheridge] because he knows he should’ve saved the first one. But he says, ‘Gaffer he didn’t mean it’, so I shouted to Kevin, ‘Tell me the truth, did you mean it?’. He said, ‘No, I didn’t’, so I’ll let him off.”
Here’s the video of the hilarious discussion between Warnock, Etheridge and De Bruyne.
