WATCH: PSG’s Kylian Mbappe shatters Usain Bolt’s world record 100 m speed in breathtaking sprint

Everyone knew Kylian Mbappe was fast, but his latest sprint  against Monaco followed by a neat finish was so fast that it allegedly broke Usuain Bolt’s 100 m dash world record according to the Sun.

Kylian Mbappe proved that he is indeed next in line to succeed Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the world’s best after he notched up a supremely impressive hattrick against Monaco to seal a 3-1 victory for PSG.

The first goal in the 15th minute, where he initiated the move from deep inside his own half and was on hand to finish it off in the Monaco penalty box, saw him clock a top speed of 38 kmph – which is comfortably higher than the 37.58kmph that Usain Bolt averaged when he set the 9.58 second world record for the 100 m in 2009.

Mbappe wasn’t done there, as he scored again in the 38th and the 55th minutes to seal his hattrick and the win for PSG that sees them clinch the Ligue 1 title as well, with it now being mathematically impossible for second placed Lille to play catch up.

In fact, the French forward is only second to Lionel Messi in the European Golden Shoe standings, having notched up 36 goals and 17 assists in 40 appearances so far this season.
