Quite the star himself, Kylian Mbappe, was asked to choose between modern-day behemoths Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Mbappe told France Football, via Sportbible, that he would rather keep him on the bench so both could play in tandem:
“If I had a choice between Messi and Ronaldo to play with me, I would sit on the bench and play both of them to be sure we would win.”
Mbappe- no mug himself- in fact, has, a better scoring record in the Champions League than both stars combined at the same juncture in their career.
The forward recently equalled Ronaldo de Lima’s tally of goals in the Champions League. At the same stage in their careers, Cristiano was yet to register a goal in Europe’s premier club competition while Messi only had two to show for.

Further, he has a World Cup to show for his early exploits, something neither superstars have managed yet.
Although the French ace is on his way to attaining stardom, he has chosen to acknowledge their individual heft. The forward is also known to be huge CR7 fanboy. Images of his childhood bedroom had surfaced some time back, and it was nothing less than a shrine to the Portuguese legend.
Touted as the next big thing in football, the skedaddling attacker has refused to place himself in the same bracket as the two. One can only wonder the miseries that may befall hapless defences if Messi and Ronaldo were to line up together, not to mention Mbappe himself.
