The German international was substituted at half-time in the 4-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid on Saturday with a hamstring injury.
He is now set for three weeks on the sidelines and will miss La Liga matches against Deportivo la Coruna, Elche and Villarreal, as well as a return to Germany to take on Schalke.
???After tests carried out by the Real Madrid medical team, an injury in his left hamstring has been diagnosed, his progress will be monitored,” the club said on Monday.
Khedira joins Madrid’s growing injury list which already includes midfielders James Rodriguez and Luka Modric and the central defensive pair of Sergio Ramos and Pepe.
The 27-year-old has made just 16 appearances in all competitions this season and is reportedly set to leave the club at the end of the season after failing to agree an extension to his contract which expires at the end of the campaign.
