A statement from Spanish side read: “Club Deportivo Leganes and Mauricio Pellegrino have reached an agreement for the Argentine coach to lead the club the next season.”
Pellegrino was replaced by Mark Hughes having been dismissed from his post after just nine months.
He joins the Primera Division side following a difficult season as they ended the recently completed campaign in 17th place.
The Argentine boss has signed a one-year contract with Leganes.
