Real Madrid have tied down another player in Raphael Varane after the defender was handed a new five-year contract at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“Real Madrid C. F. and Varane have agreed to extend the player’s contract, which will see him remain at the club until 30 June 2022,” the Spanish giants said in a statement.
The France international follows Isco, Marcelo, Dani Carvajal and Marcos Llorente in committing their long-term futures to the La Liga champions this season.

Varane has become a key member of the squad following his arrival in the Spanish capital six years ago from Lens back in his homeland.
The 24-year-old centre-back won the league title in his debut campaign with Los Blancos and repeated the feat last term, as well as picking up three UEFA Champions League winners’ medals.
He was linked with a move to Manchester United and a reunion with former Real boss Jose Mourinho during the off-season, but has now signed a two-year extension through to 2022.
