Santos midfielder Lucas Lima is set to sign for Barcelona next month on the recommendation of star forward Neymar, according to reports from Brazil.
The 26-year-old is seemingly on his way to the Blaugrana on a free transfer, as his current contract is due to expire, and will sign a four-year deal. He will, however, only be able to join Barca in December.
Lima is represented by Neymar's father and is said to have been personally recommended to Barca by Neymar himself.
"Lucas Lima dos Santos was right with Barcelona. He will sign on July 1, date that he can sign his pre-contract," reporter Benjamin Back told FOX Sports Radio.
"He leaves for free, because it is the law, six months before he can sign a pre-contract. He signs on July 1 and in December, presents himself to Barcelona.
"It would have been a request from Neymar. Lucas Lima who has his career now managed by Neymar Pai. So the information I have is this. He's not 100% sure why he did not sign, it's 99.99 per cent because on July 1st he signs with Barcelona."
