Diego Costa is an interesting human being. Passionate about the beautiful game without question, but often unable to keep a check on his emotions.
A similar story presented itself as the Spaniard took the pitch against Barcelona at the weekend, a game which was must-win for Atletico to keep their La Liga hopes alive.
As it turned out, Costa made life incredibly difficult for his team as he got sent off for what appeared to be dissent towards the referee.
A straight red too, that left fans, fellow players, and his manager rather confused. Details later emerged that the former Chelsea striker had insulted the ref and called his mother a “wh*re”.
His manager Diego Simeone later agreed that if indeed Costa had said that he deserved to be sent off, but fans weren’t satisfied with just that bit of information.
Fresh details of the incident have now emerged in which the hilarious nature of Costa trying to save himself is there for all to see.
Diego Costa is actually relentless man. He actually tried to make the situation better by saying: “No, no! I called MY mother a wh*re!” 😂 pic.twitter.com/aEHcKEW4vW

In the video above, it appears as if Costa knew what was coming, and in a bid to save himself said to the referee – “No, no! I called MY mother a wh*re!”
Classic. Needless to say, a lengthy ban looks like it is coming his way and not many can argue against it.
