Zinedine Zidane’s return to Real Madrid brought back instant results, as his side beat Celta Vigo in La Liga. Several first team players like Marco Asensio, Isco, and Keylor Navas returned to the side, having been frozen out by Santiago Solari. And one of them have even sent out a strong message to his critics.
Real Madrid beat Celta Vigo by two goals to nil on Zinedine Zidane’s return to the Santiago Bernabeu. Isco and Gareth Bale sealed the win for the Frenchman by scoring two second-half goals. Meanwhile, on the other end of the pitch, Keylor Navas replaced Thibaut Courtois and repaid his manager by keeping a clean sheet.
Navas then followed his performance by sending out a strong message to his critics:
“The people who said that I had trained badly now have to admit [they were wrong] because either they don’t know me or never saw a training session at Valdebebas,” Navas said to Marca.
“Everybody there knows how I train. At the end of the tunnel, there is always light and that’s how I have always worked.
“Now I want to enjoy this and live in the moment. If you think about the future, you lose perspective of the time you are living in.
“I work every week to try and be in the coach’s team and today, the sun came out. I always try to contribute, and I will be stronger from this situation and have more desire.”
Navas has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu ever since the arrival of Thibaut Courtois. However, the Costa Rican custodian has once again reiterated his desire to stay in the Spanish capital:
“I haven’t played for a long time and I’m very happy. The future will be seen but I’m happy here and will work as I always do.
“Thinking about the future distorts the present, as I said, but what is important is that I worked hard and was given an opportunity as a result of it.
“My family and myself are both happy here and we will see what happens in the future, but my desire hasn’t changed and my intention is to fulfil the contract I have,” he added.
