Cristiano Ronaldo triumphed in his personal contest with Mohamed Salah after two injury time goals saw Portugal defeat Egypt.
In the Switzerland-staged international friendly, fans were eagerly anticipating who would come out on top between two players expected to star at the summer’s World Cup.
Salah looked set to take the glory for the seven-time African Cup of Nations champions, until Ronaldo marked the 900th match of his career with a devastating late double.

It had been Salah who broke the deadlock in the 56th minute when the Liverpool forward exchanged passes with Abdallah El Said and then found the net with a left-foot strike from the edge of the area.
But after Salah was replaced in the dying stages, Ronaldo took his turn to shine.
First, the Real Madrid striker pulled Portugal level when he headed home Ricardo Quaresma’s cross.
Then in the fourth minute of stoppage time, he scored a near carbon-copy header, albeit he had to wait for the VAR system to confirm his 81st goal for his country.
