Mexico midfielder Hector Herrera beamed with excitement upon hearing the news his international teammate Hirving Lozano had joined Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven.
Lozano, who is currently part of the Mexico national team taking part at the FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia this month – is widely regarded as the 'Golden Boy' of Mexican football.
His transfer from Pachuca to PSV has been hailed as a 'dream' move by his compatriot who plays for FC Porto – and a sense of motivation for the young domestic league footballers to follow suit.
"What Hirving is living today is a dream, like I lived and other teammates went through," he told reporters.
"That opens up more doors to Mexicans [in Europe] and we try to keep doing things right so they keep trusting in us."
Lozano scored 18 goals and registered seven assists in 30 games across all competitions last season.
