PSV Eindhoven have confirmed that head coach Phillip Cocu has signed a contract extension which will keep him at the club until 2019.
Last season the former Dutch international guided PSV to their first Eredivisie title since 2008, and the Eindhoven outfit have moved to ensure that Cocu remains at the Philips Sport Vereniging NV.
Cocu has expressed his delight at putting pen to a new contract and his hopeful that partnership will continue to be a successful one.
“We have embarked on a given route,” he said. “A route with a beautiful vision, which is developing nicely.
“Yet there is still a long way to go on that route, for the club and myself. I want to extend the chosen path.”
Cocu’s assistant, Chris van der Weerden, and goalkeeping coach Ruud Hesp have also extended their stays with PSV. In addition, former striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink has been added to the club’s scouting team.
