De Gea display has fans raving

Manchester United earned a goalless draw at Sevilla in their Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday and it was largely down to the efforts of one man.

David De Gea was in outstanding form at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, pulling off a string of fine saves as United became the first team to stop Sevilla from scoring at home in the Champions League.

The White and Reds’ first home blank in 19 attempts will give Jose Mourinho and his side a slight advantage ahead of the return leg at Old Trafford, and they have their Spanish stopper to thank for it.

Sevilla had 25 shots with 8 on target, but De Gea was equal to them all, the standout save coming just before half-time when he stuck out a hand to deflect Muriel’s header from six yards over the bar when the Sevilla player looked certain to score.

It was a world class save which left United fans drooling.

While others questioned whether United rely on him too much.

Is he the best keeper in the world?
