Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane will be relieved after Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema both scored in Tuesday’s Champions League win over APOEL.
Zidane has had to defend his two star forwards for their lack of goals so far this season, but the duo got two each, along with Luka Modric and Nacho, as Los Blancos flew to a 6-0 win Cyprus.
"I'm happy for them," Zidane told beIN SPORTS. "They keep on working. We knew it was going to happen, that their goals would come.
"We played a good game, a very serious game. I'm very happy. We kept a clean sheet and we scored six goals."
The win in Nicosia secures Madrid’s passage through to the next round, but they go through as runners-up in Group H behind Tottenham, who beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1.
They’re also third in La Liga, 10 points behind leaders Barcelona ahead of Saturday’s match at home to Malaga.
"We're calm," Zidane added, as he goes through perhaps the toughest period so far of his tenure as manager. "There are tough moments in a season but this is a good one."
