Carlo Ancelotti admitted that FC Bayern München weren’t at their best against Anderlecht on Tuesday night.
Robert Lewandowski, Thiago Alcântara and Joshua Kimmich were the goalscorers in their 3-0 Champions League victory at the Allianz Arena, to leave the Bundesliga side second in Group B, behind leaders PSG.
After being shocked with a 2-0 loss to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in their last Bundesliga match, Ancelotti was pleased with the result.

The Bayern boss explained: “It wasn’t a top performance but a display that was sufficient at this stage.
“We expected to win the match, and we have. The match wasn’t perfect but we controlled it and set up sustained passing combinations.
“We went one up very early, maybe that’s why we didn’t play at the highest intensity. We tried to find space. We surely could have played with more intensity but it wasn’t necessary.
“It wasn’t a top performance but a display that was sufficient at this stage. Anderlecht dropped very deep. Overall I’m pleased.”
