The UEFA Champions League 2018/19 quarterfinals draw were made earlier today and the lineups for the last eight showdowns were confirmed.
While Lionel Messi’s Barcelona were handed a relatively tougher draw against Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus were drawn against AFC Ajax, who defeated Real Madrid in the round of 16.
Though the Dutch side are definitely capable of pulling off a surprise, Ronaldo’s record against them might send a chill down their spine. The Portuguese talisman has scored in all four of his previous encounters against Ajax, a total of seven goals in his last four matches against them.
While he scored a goal each in two matches, he got a brace and a hat-trick in the other two against Ajax. Can he put another masterclass against them in the quarterfinal? Only time will tell.
