Shakhtar???s normal base of Donetsk is in eastern Ukraine but that has been the scene of intense fighting between government forces and pro-Russian separatists, and the club are therefore based in Lviv this season.
Lviv is around 1,000 kilometres west of the fighting around Donetsk but there have been sporadic outbreaks of violence around the city, which included a reported rocket-propelled grenade attack on the mayor???s home in December.
However, UEFA have announced they are ???confident the match will be played in Lviv without any problems???.
The Lviv match will be the first leg of the tie, with the second leg scheduled for 11 March in Germany.
