FC Schalke 04 manager Domenico Tedesco has warned his charges that 1. FSV Mainz 05 will be tough to beat despite the club sitting in the Bundesliga bottom three.
The Royal Blues climbed to the second position in the league standings after beating TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, and Hertha Berlin in their last three outings.
Schalke’s next clash will be away at Mainz on Friday. The hosts have won only one of their last seven games in all competitions and are 16th in the standings, but Tedesco believes they are still dangerous.
“They are a tough opponent who will play full of passion,” he told the club’s official website.
“For example, Mainz won 2-0 in Berlin and played incredibly well in that game. We found out ourselves on Saturday how hard it is to play against Hertha.
“We have to forget about the table. They can play out of their skin on any given day.”
