Schweinsteiger, Badstuber back for Germany

The world champions will travel on Sunday week to Tiblisi to take on the Georgians.

This will be captain Schweinsteiger’s first match for Germany since the World Cup final.

Bastuber returns to the squad for the first time since October 2012 due to injury and Ilkay Gundogan makes a return for the first time since August 2013.

"[Ilkay and Holger] have both had a long time of suffering behind them and fortunately this is now over for them," said Low.

"I was moved to see Holger and Ilkay back on the ball again and I was impressed with how quickly they have got back to a high level again.

"It's astonishing how they've dealt with the situation. They've worked hard over months and, despite several setbacks, they never lost their optimism," he added.
