TSG 1899 Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann will receive no sanction from the Bundesliga, for throwing a bottle and striking a fan in a game against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
In last Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Borussia, Nagelsmann reportedly threw a bottle in frustration when Thorgan Hazard equalised for the visitors in the 61st minute at the WIRSOL Rhein-Neckar-Arena.

While seemingly trying to throw the bottle behind his team’s bench near the technical area, it is said to have slipped out of his hand and hit a fan. However, he immediately said sorry to the uninjured supporter who accepted his apology.
As such, the league ruled out taking action against the 30-year-old although warned him that a penalty could result if it happened again. A statement read, “The DFB Control looks from the consent of the DFB sports court of the initiation of proceedings against Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann, since the meeting of the spectator was unintentional with the plastic bottle.
“The coach publicly apologized after the game in person. (We hope) he will refrain from such throwing of objects in the stadium interior in the future.”
