Borussia Dortmund left-back Raphael Guerreiro was delighted to make his comeback from injury on Tuesday after recovering from surgery on his broken ankle.
The 23-year-old came on in the 63rd minute of the BVB’s 5-0 thrashing of Magdeburg in the DFB Pokal and revealed that he felt comfortable on the pitch.
The appearance was Guerreiro’s first of the season, after sitting out 14 games, and he is determined to get back to his best form for the club.

Guerreiro told BVBtotal!: “I’m very happy to have played again. I felt good and everything went well on the pitch. It was a relatively difficult match. Magdeburg are a strong third-division side. Winning there by such a clear margin is not that easy.”
He added: “It was a difficult time. But I’m very happy to have finally made my comeback. I feel good again now. At this point I would like to express my thanks to the club staff, who gave me great support.
“Of course, I’m not yet at 100 percent in terms of running but that will improve bit by bit. I need to build it back up. Nonetheless, I will now try to be there when the coach needs me.”
