Liverpool loanee Divock Origi is delighted to be playing alongside experienced Germany international Mario Gomez and believes he can learn much from him.
Origi joined VfL Wolfsburg in the off-season for a one-year loan spell and is relishing the chance to absorb all the knowledge Gomez brings to the pitch.
Gomez has scored 31 goals in 71 appearances for Germany and has netted 18 in 41 for Wolfsburg since joining the club in 2016. Origi has already made six appearances for the Bundesliga outfit, bagging two goals, and is eager to learn from the 32-year-old striker.
“He’s the captain. Even in training, you can see his importance. I can learn a lot from him,” he said.
“Mario is top in the box, and to be honest I also like to play up front.
“But my quality also is to come from a deeper position. I can play on the wings, and get drawn to the goal from there.”
