Ousmane Dembele has been suspended by Borussia Dortmund indefinitely, for missing training on Thursday.
The 20-year-old France international striker is a target for Barcelona, with his Bundesliga side having rejected and offer from the Primera Division team on Monday.
The former Rennes man, who signed a five-year deal with Dortmund in May 2016, will be forced to train by himself “until further notice” after being fined and suspended for his actions.
BBC Sport reports that a move for the player to La Liga “not currently likely”.
Dortmund director of football Michael Zorc said: “Ousmane Dembele missed training without notifying the club and has clearly taken this action consciously. We will obviously sanction him for this.
