FC Bayern München have provided updates on all of their players currently facing injury concerns.
The German giants announced that Arjen Robben and David Alaba have returned to fitness, while Manuel Neuer, Jerome Boateng, Javi Martinez, James Rodriguez, Thiago and Juan Bernat still battle injuries.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti said that Robben and Alaba were available to face third tier Chemnitzer FC in Saturday’s DFB Cup tie. He told the club’s official website, “Arjen Robben and David Alaba are fit. They won’t start, but I could bring them on from the bench.”

Meanwhile, Neuer is close to a return but the Italian confirmed he won’t rush the Germany number one back into action, saying, “It’s all going according to plan. He’s already back working with (goalkeeping coach) Toni Tapalovic and we’ll see if there’s a reaction over the next few days. We’ll take a decision after that. I won’t take any risks.”
However, the 58-year-old was less optimistic about the other injured stars, concluding, “They have muscular injuries or have been out for a long time, like Neuer and Boateng. They’ll only play once they’re 100 percent fit.”
Following their cup encounter this weekend, the Bavarians first Bundesliga match of 2017/18 is against Bayer Leverkusen next Friday (18 August) at the Allianz Arena.
