Kevin Grosskreutz has taken a swipe at former club Borussia Dortmund for letting Jakub Blaszczykowski leave to join Bundesliga rivals VfL Wolfsburg.
Winger Blaszczykowski ended his nine-year association with Dortmund on Monday when he moved to the Volkswagen Arena in a 5 million Euro deal.
The Poland international, who helped his country reach the quarter-finals of Euro 2016, spent last season on loan in Italy with Fiorentina after falling out of favour with Jurgen Klopp’s replacement, Thomas Tuchel.
Grosskreutz himself left Signal Iduna Park during the 2015 off-season transfer window due to limited opportunities under Tuchel, and the VfB Stuttgart wing-back has criticised Dortmund for not having faith in Blaszczykowski.
“I wish you all the best,” he said of the Pole on Instagram. “Gratitude only exists with the fans. Nobody will give you a second chance if things aren’t going your way – it is what it is nowadays.
“Football isn’t what it used to be anymore… the transfer fees are simply disgusting – only success and commerce counts.”
