Thomas Tuchel was pleased with the character his Borussia Dortmund side showed in their 3-0 win at VfB Stuttgart on Saturday, with the result delaying Bayern’s title celebrations.
After the disappointment of crashing out of the Europa League to Liverpool, Tuchel’s side have now won three consecutive Bundesliga matches to delay Bayern Munich’s march to the title.
Bayern’s 2-0 victory over Hertha Berlin on Saturday means they can wrap up the championship when they host Borussia Monchengladbach next week.
Nevertheless, Tuchel was full of praise for the application his side have shown in the last couple of weeks.
“We can’t control anything except our performances,” he said. “We scored lovely goals today and yet again put in a great display – compliments to the team.
“We were really affected by the 4-3 defeat in Liverpool [in the UEFA Europa League] but haven’t used it as a season-defining defeat.”
